A Happy Hour Guide to The Vail Valley

As the sun lingers longer in the sky and the patios begin to beckon, it's time to celebrate the onset of patio season in the Vail Valley with happy hour! Whether you're a local in search of post-adventure refreshment or a visitor planning a trip around tasting the valley's flavors, scheduling a few happy hours into your trip is a must. Let this blog be your spirited tour guide (pun intended) through the Vail Valley's happy hour hotspots.

Making It Fun:

Why settle for just one happy hour spot when you can indulge in hopping around to try a few different places? Plan to sample the best happy hours in town, either as a daily activity during your trip or as a leisurely afternoon dedicated to exploring the area by way of sips and savories.

Wine Bars and Tasting Rooms:

Wine bars and tasting rooms are perfect stops for those wanting to sip on more than one varietal of wine. Enjoy discounted wine flights or specials on glasses of local classics in a cozy atmosphere perfect for unwinding.

  • Vines at Vail Winery(Vail, CO): Indulge in tasting flights at their welcoming tasting room, open Fridays and Saturdays from 12pm to 6pm (April 14-May 11), with extended summer hours from May 12 to October 15.

  • Root & Flower (Vail, CO): Reserve your spot for a party of five or more and delight in over 20 exquisite by-the-glass pours.

  • Social Oak Wine Bar (Eagle, CO): This daily happy hour runs 4pm till 5:30pm. A few favorites include their $2 off draft wine, and $7 eagle ranch water. Aside from a great happy hour, they also have delicious seasonal bites.

Outdoor Patios & Fire Pits:

If your vibe is more fire side, you may want to look at spots that offer outdoor seating. Order a discounted pint at the valley’s Bavarian-inspired beer hall or pull up a stool to Mountain Fish House’s indoor/outdoor bar seating.

  • Ein Prosit (Avon, CO): Embrace the Bavarian spirit with happy hour offerings from 3pm to 6pm, all amidst charming outdoor seating.

  • Harvest Bar & Restaurant (Edwards, CO): Everyday from 4-6pm appetizers come with a  free glass of wine or beer. They also offer daily specials during their happy hour. For wine lovers, bottles are half-priced during Thursday happy hour.

  • Mountain Fish House (Edwards, CO): Daily from 3:30-5:30 pm, you can dine on their happy hour. Try their oyster shooters at $2 off or sip on $7 glasses of wine. Not to mention, Inn at Riverwalk guests get a free shrimp cocktail when they purchase a happy hour drink.

Live Music Venues:

The only thing that makes happy hour even better is live music! Luckily, there are a few spots in the valley that offer both for a fun and lively atmosphere. We also recommend checking out the various live shows coming to The Amp. You can make your happy hour the pre-show hangout to a concert at our beloved outdoor amphitheater.

  • Sauce on the Creek (Avon, CO): Groove to local tunes during happy hour from 3pm to 5pm while enjoying $7 house glasses of wine and delectable 10” pizzas.

  • Agave (Avon, CO): Satisfy your cravings with authentic Mexican fare and enjoy daily happy hour specials 3:30pm-5:30pm, with late-night live music for those who want to extend the fun.

Family-Friendly Options:

Happy hours aren't just for those over 21. Families can enjoy discounted drinks, appetizers and small plates with happy hour deals. If you are looking for a family-friendly spot to enjoy the valley, we recommend these spots:

  • Westside Cafe & Market (West Vail, CO): Start your happy hour early with boozy brunches and signature cocktails from 9am to 3pm, or swing by between 3pm and 9pm for more delightful specials.
