Residents take pride in supporting the community, making it an amazing place to experience for both visitors and locals. With over a hundred nonprofits in the area, it’s easy to see that a strong sense of social responsibility is essential to taking care of these mountain resort towns and their natural resources.

Nonprofit Spotlight: Roundup River Ranch

The Inn at Riverwalk is a proud supporter of Roundup River Ranch, a nonprofit organization that enriches the lives of children with serious illnesses by offering free, medically supported camp programs that make campers feel like ordinary kids again. The camp, located on a beautiful ranch 30 minutes from Edwards, provides old-fashioned camp experiences that create joyful memories and lasting friendships. In this special place, kids are not defined by their illnesses. Instead, they can take a vacation from being “a patient” and get back to the playfulness of feeling carefree in a safe environment. Camp is focused on fun, but there is a full team of healthcare professionals to provide medical, physical, and emotional support in addition to a team of chefs that accommodate various dietary needs.

Camp is free for all kids and their families, serving the Rocky Mountain Region. Roundup River Ranch is funded by the generosity of community businesses, like The Inn at Riverwalk, and through the Ranch’s signature events. Their events are as fun as they are fulfilling - and they’re both coming up this month:

How To Support Roundup River Ranch

If you can’t make it to one of Roundup River Ranch’s signature events, you can still contribute to the organization year-round. The Inn at Riverwalk makes it easy to show your support. Book a stay in the Roundup River Ranch room and The Inn will donate 20% of the proceeds to the organization. The room is special - much like the camp itself. Decorated with a brightly colored mural, artist Marley Seifert created an outline for the wall art to later be filled in by Roundup River Ranch families and volunteers. The result is a 92”x92” mural that represents the beauty and life-changing adventures that Roundup River Ranch offers.

The Double Queen room sleeps up to 4 guests in two queen-sized featherbed-topped mattresses. Stocked with all the amenities you need for a restful stay, including luxury bath products, blackout curtains, and feather or foam pillow, the river-view corner room is also pet friendly.
