Did you know that climbing will make its Olympic debut in Tokyo this summer?! The athletes will compete in 3 different disciplines (speed, bouldering, and lead) to try to claim Olympic gold! Speed climbing pits two climbers against each other on identical 15 meter tall routes (Eagle Climbing + Fitness has a 10 meter speed climb in their facility, how fast are you? The world record is less than 5.5 seconds!). In bouldering, the athletes attempt to scale multiple very hard short climbs while unroped, staying close to the padded surface. In lead, athletes attempt to climb as high as possible on an increasingly difficult climb on a wall measuring over 15 meters tall. Three of the US Olympic climbers have climbed and trained at Eagle Climbing + Fitness! You’ll be seeing and hearing a LOT more about climbing after the Olympics, it’s sure to be a favorite new sport for people around the world!
You can drop-in anytime (reservations are required during the COVID era, available HERE), and after a short orientation from the friendly EC+F staff, you’ll be ready to tackle the walls on your own! If you are looking for instruction from their experienced and professional staff or a more personal experience, they also offer private lessons (advance notice required). We’ve seen kids younger than 2 and adults over the age of 70 make it up their tall walls!
With over 8,500 square feet of climbing, and walls up to 42 feet tall, there is something for everyone! And, if you’re not ready to scale the climbing walls, there are yoga and fitness options too. The welcoming, bright, and airy yoga studio is the perfect spot for your next yoga practice. Yoga classes are offered Monday – Thursday, taught by certified Yoga Off Broadway instructors. There’s also TWO fitness studios to train cardio, strength, and overall fitness, so you’ll be able to train every muscle group in your body! Access to yoga classes and the fitness studios are also included with your day pass, punch card, or private lesson.
Climbing harnesses and climbing shoes are available to rent. Rental equipment is sanitized and quarantined after each use.
Day Pass: $17 for students/youth, $20 for adults 10 Punch Card (punch cards ARE transferrable and never expire! What to Wear and Bring
Wear comfortable athletic clothing and bring water bottle, a mask or face covering, and a positive attitude! Cubbies and lockers are available for your personal items.
